Default 2015 Snow and Pizza run

Thank you Scott for doing another great run! Tough conditions but I think everyone enjoyed getting stuck! Has anyone heard from Dave and Adele? Just wondering how it worked out geting thier dead truck home. I felt bad we couldnt fix it on the trail?

That was a great time. Big thanks to FJBrady for calling us in on the radio and dropping back to meet us, we were almost an hour behind due to the horrible traffic over I-70. We caught the back of the group pretty quickly and ran until Dave's 80 died when he dropped it into gear. We enjoyed the sunshine and light breeze while trying to solve the electrical before heading on down for pizza.

Here are a couple shots I got of Travis and Dean in the Snow:

Thanks Scott for organizing another fun Snow and Pizza Run!. Special thanks to Andy, Kevin, Steve and all the others that helped out trying to find the 80 electrical gremlin.

Steve dropped us at Dostel Alley where we had some calzone and local micro brews while waiting for AAA. AAA Dropped us in the driveway at 6 PM.

Working on the roof today, but might get to probe around into the issue some later today.

I also have the hand held hamm that Rachel was using. Who do I need to get that to?

Ok. I gave it to Travis Rogers today and he'll get to Travis Hurley to get to Treeroot.

Slid toward a drift, we had all driven through, and hit both doors. It dented them both but I think it can be fixed with a little work.

Let's see those pics and videos! It will be good to see them when we are all at work tomorrow.

It was a fun day. We had about 20 rigs. We all hit ski traffic on I70 and in Clear Creek Canyon so that delayed most of us. We had some RS snow run veterans show up that we hadn't seen in a while. Perry with his camera riding with Treeroot. Cheeseman, Dean and Steve Brady. Even Steve Rudy. Evidently Rudy and was way up the trail when he reported that there was a tree down over the trail that would need to be dealt with (I never actually got to to see him). Uncle Ben, Treeroot and the gang in front were blazing a trail up there. Uncle Ben was first on the scene and helped Rudy and others cut and winch the tree off the trail. There were two jeeps up there that got ahead of them and were winching and moving slowly. So the front group came back to meet us at the playground.

It was extremely windy up there. Treeroot left us the big drift to break. I was on it first. It was rock hard on top. I gently drove up on it from the back side. But, after just getting the JadeRunner all fixed up after a big year. I didn't have the gumption to blast it. So I backed off it and let others try. I believe Adam (Aprosise) was the first to bust it open. Good fun.

We had lunch inside our rigs at the playground due to the fierce winds. We heard on the radio that the rear part of the group was working on Kaiser's 80 that wouldn't start. Uncle Ben went back down to help. I commend the guys in the rear of the group that worked on Kaiser rig basically the rest of the day and didn't get to run the other half of the trail. They weren't able to get any power it. ECU or something failed.

I took the rest of the main group up to the end of the trail. There was more snow this year. Mainly from earlier in the year and it had blown into some big drifts. A few of us blasted up the trail and made new tracks. But, weren't getting much further. Se we called it a day and had a fun time wheelin out.

Brady strapped Kaiser out to the parking lot. Treeroot and Travis H. did a final sweep of the spur roads to make sure everyone was out. Evidently that's when he slid into a tree and did body damage. Bummer.

We all met early for pizza and had a good time.

I also want to thank Steve Brady for gunning for me with two good radios. It's good to have him back on the trail. He was basically prepared to give up his day to help others if needed. All the rising Sun veterans did that and that was really cool. Well done.
