I didn't get much done today, we had a Holiday thing with my Wife's work to attend...but got a little done between the end of that, and the football game....

I removed the sprocket from the "hitch plate" and started working it...I started with the grinder, and flap disc to get the bulk plastic removed, and then worked it with files, and emery cloth...A little flat black paint, and it can be remounted to the toy...

Above the bezel, there is a piece that mimics the gap between the hood, and the headlight bezel. The space inside the bezel was left the color of the body. I marked the inside of the bezel, and masked it off for some black paint. I'm going to add strips of electrical tape there to copy the plastic piece above.

I had fashioned a plastic piece to it fit in that area, but would have to modify the bezel for the piece to fit...I think this idea will still give the illusion of texture, but stay tight on the body to get the bezel on without modification.

By the way...this is the first peek at the painted body, and the awesome bezel Jeff worked up for me. He drove his 45 to work for the week he designed the bezel for me for reference. You don't get that kind of commitment from anyone but a fellow cruiserhead...THANKS JEFF...the bezel looks fantastic!

I finished taping the stripes on the painted area behind the bezel. It made more sense to paint and tape as I would have had to modify the bezel...I didn't want that...

I had to open up the space for the headlight, as My LED bullet lights for headlights are 16mm, and the original hole was closer to 10. Hooked up a bullet shaped stone to the dremel, and opened up the hole. I had some mylar discs that were originally designed to roll up, and put in a wine bottle for a drip free pour, but were the right "weight" and almost the perfect size for the headlight backing. I still had one original piece that I planned to reuse, so had the right pattern for the second piece.

I put the LED bullets on the bezel, and tightened them down with the provided ring. I had just enough room moving the mylar to fasten the bezel to the tub with some stainless fasteners.

There were a few little goobers of ABS from the printing that had to be ground down and smoothed, as well as a little plastic removal from the headlight lense to get everything to fit.

I'm super impressed with how accurate 3D printing is to the original parts.

I have the turn signals and the fog lights apart, and waiting to be modified with little LED lights.

Progress rolled along today...I started pretty early this morning getting the LEDs placed with morning coffee. As usual with me, when things are coming together, I generally forget to take pictures of progress along the way.

I used some of the heavier vacuum form packaging from some other junk I bought to help support the bolt lights. I wanted to keep them totally enclosed within the fog light housing, and also keep the wires hidden, and protected.

I did the same with the front turn signals. My plan is to eventually get them blinking when the steering is turned to a sharper angle...a project for another day...I did get the engine cleaned up today...

I put the tub on the "chassis", installed the dash after getting the gauges and other pieces on there. It has a real AM/FM radio with a port for MP3 player.

I still need to buy and install a new battery. I cut a hole in the dash for a voltage meter, I'll fix to the hole with some Velcro.

put the bumper on there too...

It's coming along...

Well you got the seal of approval from my 5 year old boy Cooper. He just said, "I wish I had it!"

Nice job Kurt.
