Default Kingston Peak

Beautiful day up on Kingston Peak today. We met up with the Forest Service folks, NORAC and Trail Ridge Runners at 9. There were 40 trucks in total, crazy! We had 7 with us including a 200, 2 100s, an 80, two tacos and the Honey Badger. It was a little chaotic parking for lunch, which was provided by the Forest Service and we headed up the trail early after lunch before the rest of the Nissans and Jeeps. The Tacos took off before us and we watched them climb the rocky ascent up to Kingston Peak, but didn't catch them. Here's the best snapshot from today at the rock house.

Travis, did you guys make it to Loch Lomond?

We never did. I was trying to radio back up the hill to let you know we were changing plans. But the handhelds can only go so far. We ended up actually going to Argentine and doing a little bit of work before heading home. Big thanks to Daine for lending a hand out there moving trees.
Traffic in Georgetown and on Guenella was ridiculous. People everywhere. They were pretty much blocking the trailhead. Then there was some sort of Subaru extravaganza going on up there too.
Anyways.
It was great to get out there and wheel with you guys and meet some new folks. I've never run Kingston Peak before, it's a beautiful area. Name: image-3451342760.jpg

Good times yesterday! Scott, thank you for being our fearless leader and running (at the very least this car load of newbies) through everything with such thoughtful narration! Looking forward to going out more next year as well as coming to the monthly meeting next week!

Those are some great shots guys. Thanks for joining us out there. Looking forward to seeing you all at upcoming meetings!

Love the driver side mirror shot with the 2wd Ford Escape on street tires heading up as we were coming to the end of the trail. Wonder how that guy faired up there...

Good times Scott thanks for posting up about this run beforehand.

Here's part of the lunch parking mayhem.

With 40 trucks on Kingston we figured there were plenty of hands to get the fence done. Travis and I decided to go do some work over on Argentine. Some jerks have been starting their own New trails and reopening old closed ones.
