Default FJ40 - Aussie Rear Locker Install.

I am trying to get my rig ready for Saturday's run. One thing I need to do is install my rear locker. I know it is a strech but, I wanted to see if anyone who has done one of these before might be able to stop by for a couple before Saturday and give me a hand. I am close to Wadsworth and Bowles. I will supply the

Let me know. Thanks

if you were closer, i would, but i don't get off work til seven, than an hour drive...

it's incredibly simple. are you putting it in the rear...if so, that's even easier since you don't have to pull the carrier. just follow the instructions.

Thanks for the vote of confedence. If I understand the directions right, I don't have to take the tires off or the diff. out. Just pop the cover and work on everything right there.

That's correct, but you will need to put the rear end up on jackstands, so you can pull the axles outward by grabbing the tire.

I wrote a step-by-step guide to locker install in Toyota Trails. How long have you been a TLCA member? Just grab that issue and follow the illustrated instructions. I would say 30 minutes is a little optimistic, maybe an hour or so would be moe realistic.

Jeff left out the though, for obvious reasons. This job cannot be undertaken without :yeahdude:

Done it many times with and without breer. Lunchbox lockers are way simple, but there are little tricks they don't tell you about in to install instructions that make all the difference. Like the trick I picked up about the butterknife and duct tape trick for getting the c-clips back in. Indespensible.

I don't have that TT issue. The pics and description from Romer are great. I will give myself a couple hours, =-}. I will keep the butter knife an duct tape in mind.
