Default How to assemble a Scout...

this is a thread that Scout enthusiasts may enjoy. Scoutparts.com is doing a promotion where they're web casting the assembly if a 1964 Scout Red Carpet. This is a similar body style to the 800B that I used to have, kind of like an early Bronco. To see some "before" pictures of the truck, click here: http://scoutparts.com/gallery/ it's the one on top, not the red pickup on the bottom.

here is the live video feed: http://www.scoutparts.com/scoutcam.php or you can just go to http://www.scoutparts.com and click on the "Red Carpet Scout 80 Rebuild" banner.

The email I got says they're going to start at 11:00 tomorrow and end at 6:00.. so we'll have to tune in tomorrow to monitor progress.

until then I'll just think about the one I had last year..

Not a whole lot appears to be happening on the build so far. The guy with the beard appears to be in charge, as the other guys all come and go and seem to be handing him little bits when they return...

Hopefully they got something on when I get back from lunch.

I was wondering what happened to that Scout with the burned up wire. Did it sell with the house, like you got it originally?

Did you see this? At the bottom of the video feed right now and has been for awhile...

"Ugh! We took off the head and found water in cylinder one! While those guys inspect it further, we're keeping busy installing the brakes."

Aren't they supposed to be putting the thing back together, not taking it apart?

skinny Jeff Z.- At first I was going to keep it but later on in the contract I had to toss it in with the deal on the house, to quell some of their inspection objections.. Was no where near how I found it though, substantially better! I'm sure it receive no attention all summer, and started right up first snowfall.

not quite as skinny Jeff Z.- yeah I thought the same thing.. plus it sure looks like they're taking their sweet time with that thing, doesn't it? Would be cooler if the video had sound too, IMO.
