Default my 60 has Alt on top

Bruce, what you describe sounds like my 60. My Alt. is on the top, middle/PS of motor, AC comp. is down below.

Robbie's got my 2f out doin' some stuff to it, include AC comp - I bet he could chime in with some recent experience.

from IH8MUD...i thought this was from an FJ60, but it doesn't show an AC compressor? Maybe it's just a later 40 2F with no AC?

That is not from an FJ60, it has the slot on the big ole nut for the hand crank. On the FJ60, this is a nut with no slot. All the FJ60 2Fs that I have seen also have a three row crank pulley. The thermostat housing and water pump are also missing the connections for the oil cooling line. Presuming these have not been changed on the engine, I would agree with you that it is a 2F from a 40/45/55 of late 70's vintage.

From an 84 FJ60. Originally from Treeroot, then to Timm, then to me, Now Mike has it. I took a bunch of photos for just such an occasion because it appeared stock, fully smogged and unmolested.

I thought all 60s were the same - both my '82 and '84 had the alternator on top. In Jeff's picture, I can't tell if its a 3 row crank pulley or not.

3 row. For AC.

Let's resurrect this thread.

I found this information on belt routing:
http://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wa...t-routing.html

There's a couple diagrams that show what the belt routing is for US and Canadian spec Cruisers.

But what I don't know is what row do each of the belts go on? Can someone take a look at their FJ60 2F engines and help me out? Right now my guess is:

1st row (closest to engine) - Crank-Water Pump-Smog Pump
2nd row - Crank-Alternator-Power Steering Pump
3rd row - Crank-Air Conditioning Compressor

It would be super cool if that was right.

EDIT: Based on some more reading I think it may be like this:
1st row - Crank-Air Conditioning Compressor
2nd row - Crank-Water Pump-Smog Pump
3rd row - Crank-Alternator-Power Steering Pump

In which case I need to do some more thinking...

EDIT AGAIN: Found some pictures, looks like my second guess was right:
