Default Prayers needed...

I will most likely be missing the next several meetings. I'm about ready to have the cyst removed from my spinal canal, so I'm going to be laid up for a few months. It will be worth it to be able to walk normal again...or at least stop the progression so I don't lose continence and start peeing on myself for the rest of my life

Surgery at UCLA scheduled for 22 Feb!!! Keep me in your prayers.

Best of luck Paul. Spinal surgery is always sensitive stuff so I hope you have a great crew of surgeon and staff. Rehab is so important.

I believe I have the best of the best. These guys wrote the book on this very rare condition. In fact, the best neurosurgeons in the Denver/Boulder area all missed the diagnosis. I went to UCLA this past week, and was amazed at how these guys worked as a team like the Mayo clinic and others do. My first appointment was nearly 2 hours long...that's longer than all of my appointments in Denver combined!!!

Turns out, I have a intradural arachnoid cyst (web) causing a syrinx in my spinal canal. The condition is called Syringomyelia and can be caused by several things, including a Chiari Malformation from birth. Mine was most likely caused by a sports injury or my early X-games attempts before the X-games were cool!!! The cyst is growing and pushing on my spinal cord which has caused me to lose nearly all sensation in my lower body (below the belt). It's crazy...when I rub on my belly or my lower back, my right leg tingles all the way to the tips of my toes!!!

If I don't do something soon, the next thing to go is urinary continence, bowel control, and sexual function. I'm not chancing any of this...gotta do something soon!!!

Thanks, Steve!

I'm sending positive thoughts your way, and if it's all right a antioxidant drink that my ladies grandfather stands by as helping him through his recoveries.
I''ll get 2 bottles 2 run buy so you can check 2 see your doctors o.k. it, 2 make sure that it wont be harmful 2 your treatment. One is a Mon-A-VIE(I think) and the other is a A Nu-Skin product (not the liquid skin stuff).
