a few years ago I got real serious about a classic wagon as a 'family' car.

I was WAY into something along the lines of a vintage country squire type ride ....

or maybe the other direction with a hopped up 455 powered vista cruiser...

but my wife wouldn't take me or it seriously.

I still think something like this would be waayy cool for an everyday-haul-the-kids around car, but she hated the idea.

am I crazy???
i dunno

I think if it is going to have Collector's Plates, it has to have wood siding!

My favorite wagon memory was my '78 Volvo 245 - The Battle Wagon!!!

I beat the living daylights out of that SOHC in-line 4 cylinder, and it would not die.

It was big pimpin' - 4 spd w/ overdrive, A/C, AM/FM w/ cassette (and auto-reverse), and cruise!

I did donuts on countless landscapes, and got that sucker airborne many, many times.

Also, the precious high school memories of having a wagon...

Folks had one of these, in chocolate brown:

I remember travelling from Montebello to Golden to go look at it with my dad before buying, and driving by the big lit up 'M' on the side of the hill . Good summer trips, sleeping in the back in sleeping bags while dad drove through the night. Although the time it broke down and we had to spend several days in Concordia KS weren't much fun

I love wagons. This thread is a hoot. I've owned more wagons than any other configuration. My first was a '71 Volvo 145 and hopefully my next will be an FJ55. And that stationwagon dot com site is a gem! Another great black hole is here.
