Default 3rd Gen 4Runner Seat Help

I recently picked up a 01 Runner and the standard cloth seats are doing a number on my back for some reason. Would seats from a different toyota bolt in without mods? One thought I had was to see if 4th or 5th gen seats work better for me and check to see if they'll bolt right in. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you from Bad Back.

Welcome Brent! 'bout time you posted up.. no idea on later model seats though but you might call Oleg, he's got a lot of seat swappin' experience. www.irbisoffroad.com

You could also buy new leather kits from Shane http://forum.ih8mud.com/metric-tlc/ and while your cloth is off maybe add some foam? His leather kits are very sweet, pretty sure he makes 4Runner ones as he has confirmed he can make Taco ones.. just PM him on mud to verify.

Thanks Nakman! Hey do you think Limited's seats would be more comfortable? I'm worried it might be a design issue I'm having. As in I'm not designed to work well with the seats. Do you think the newer gen runner seats are better?

I think the only addition you would get with the Limited seats is lumbar support and seat heat...and the lumbar support is really not that great. I have looked around a bit to see if there are any aftermarket manufacturers for a more comfortable, bolt on solution. Not a whole lot available in my price range (cheap).

I've checked the JC Whitney site but....yeah there a bit pricy and I'm not sure if they'd be better. I'll go check out 4th gen seats and see if those feel better.

I would guess and say that unless it is a sport or 4cyl it should have 4:10's. A lot of sports that I have seen have 4:30's. Didn't the 4cyl 4runners have 4:88's? There are several out there in the 96 - 2002's..

Starting in 01 manual tranni's were history. I had 4.10's with my manual. All the guys I know with autos had 4.30's. So that's probably what he has with a V6 on a 2001. Some of the the 4cyls did come with 4.88's.
