Default Random Pig sightings

In order to keep my quest alive for a reasonably-priced daily driver Pig, I'm starting this silly little thread with this. Feel free to ad your random Pig sightings, whether they be unexpected discoveries on the web or in your travels...

Not a daily driver (actually not a driver at all ) but here's a picture of my old pig.

And a picture of it when newer...courtesy the original owner via mud.

As for sightings, after I sold it to a guy in Fort Collins, the roof was chopped to restore a different pig, and the running gear and what was left of the body was sold to another guy in Grand Junction, who happened to know one of my cruiser-head buddies out there. I guess this guy has a pristine southern 55 shell was was going to throw it on the old running gear from my cruiser. I really ought to try and document the life of that piggy, its been all over CO, and probably the rest of the country.

This one was sighted in my garage and on the "2010 Snow Run" ...destined for a second chance at survival

It is my 16 y/o son's daily driver to school, scouts and other activities. He's bringing it to CM2010 next Friday-Sunday!

Still a work in progress (Aren't they all?)...Stage 1 resto should be complete late summer 2010 (body repair and basic running gear check...hopefully by RS rally). Stage 2 in 2011-12...(More complete running gear resto) Stage 3, complete frame off resto when Z is able to foot the bill on his own.

I must say, this ol' pig is growing on me. Good luck in your search John!

Corey:
Been meaning to email you...here's the rest of the story (so far)...
Top pic is what we know call "Frankencruiser) on the way over the passes in January after Jason bit off his chunk for the restoration he's doing. Second is as it sat in my garage during further dismantling. It's about to lose its indoor place to the one in the third pic, which I rescued from a trip to the crusher about a year and a half ago. It was last on the road in the early 1990s. I bought it sans drivetrain for parts for an earlier AZ pig I've since sold. Goal is to take two and make one and have it on the road by the 4th of July.
Mitch forwarded the info you provided and the old MUD thread from when you bought it. Nice to have the info...thanks.

Steve, gorgeous 55. How was it set up in this picture? Tires/wheel diameter/lift? It sits just about exactly how I want mine to sit.

FJ60 rims with factory chrome center caps, 31x10.5 Michelins (street tires, but the price was right). I had extended shackles on the rear springs, but the springs were stock. The front had extendo-shackles (only slightly bigger than stock) and caster shims. The frame had a receiver hitch welded to it, and the rear bumper was (of course) trash, so I took the OEM front bumper, cut a hitch hole in it, and installed it on the rear. I scored a New-in-box front bumper for the front of the truck. If you're not worried about toughness or accessory mounting, I think a front pig bumper looks great on the rear of a pig - it's trim, subtle, and the correct width. It's too bad that pig rear bumpers had such flimsy ends on them!
