I've seen a few people on Ebay that had these surplus cases in all sorts of sizes. They seem to run anywhere from $25-$200 depending on the size/condition. Shipping can be harsh on the bigger ones, but not too bad on smaller sizes, which would work better in a rig or on a rack. Do an Ebay search for Hardigg.

I didn't know your tailgate didn't drop. I think those soft bags you posted would work great for that.

Currently in my 40, I'm using rubbermaid bins and a canvas tarp over everything with a bungee web holding everything down and keeping the dust out. Works great (except no rear seats possible). You can sort of see it in this pic, heavily loaded down with gear on our Wyoming excursion last year:

I dig it Martin-

I am trying to add storage where it will still be able to be used once I put the kiddo seat in the back. I like the gun bags as they have some removable pouches on the front side that could be taken out overnight if I choose to keep more valueable things in them.

I will search for those boxes, I appreciate the tip.

Update, I scored a cheap Pelican 1700 off ebay. I am going to make a drop down tailgate this winter and bolt the 1700 to the tailgate in an inverted position. That way I can drop the tailgate all the way down and then open the case 90* and have it create a "shelf" verses just dumping everything everywhere.

I picked up a set of windshield hinges and the spacing of the hinge from the mounting surface will allow me to clear the rear tire carrier/bumper and drop the gate straight down, eliminating the need for cables/chains to hold up the tailgate and allowing me to get closer to the tub.

We'll see if my theory works.

Here's what I scored... it fits JUST perfectly in the rear door opening!

Here is a mock up of what I am thinking...

Perfect fit between the fender wells...

Here is a mock up of it in front how it could mount to the tailgate...

Or I could go super simple and make a "shelf" over the fender wells and tuck two of these underneath creating a flat platform to bolt some more stuff to it. If I can score another used Pelican 1700 for a good price again, I could have psuedo drawers for under $200 bucks and have them be 100% waterproof which I like...

I am thinking of making a platform like the one below, or just bolt several of these tracks to the tub of the floor. I love the flexibility of the moveable tie down anchors.
