Default Rising Sun Holiday Party Report

Hmmmm...

Did I miss a report on the holiday party?

A HUGE thanks to Dean and Natalie for hosting the party again this year. They did a wonderful job from the food to the decorations. Whenever I looked around I noticed another nice touch here or there...I was really impressed with the tree Natalie created using a tomato plant deal, spruce tree clippings, and an old Gazette map book that she turned into decorations/ornaments. Equally neat was the Rising Sun Celebration 2012 sign she created using stencils and an old map book. Dean also put up some old photos which was neat. It was obvious that Dean and Natalie put a LOT of effort into the event. Reports on the food were that it was amazing. I got there late and had already eaten but based on seeing Nakman going back for seconds and maybe even thirds it had to be good

The gift exhange was pretty mellow this year not having Hulk there to direct us in the hysterics - I almost came away with an awesome Lego kit that was destined to go home with Gavin (he was eyeing that thing HARD) but Dan K's daughter swooped in for the steal at the last minute. I thought for sure she was going to scoop up the Barbie dolls but she went straight for the Legos - I ended up with a bottle of Fireball whiskey that I'm thinking will need to make the trip to CM2013 with me.

Oh, and Steve...we all want to know if there were any big winners in those lottery scratch tickets

What a spread! Big thanks again Dean & Natalie for all the effort you put into that. Too bad the turnout was a little on the light side, you guys who missed it really missed out on a nice time.

Happy Holidays, everyone.

Thanks for posting this Jeff. I had been to meaning to get to this.

Indeed. Dean and Natalie did a fabulous job hosting our event. The room was done up really well and is was obvious they put a lot of work into it. The food was fantastic.

I will be sending them a thank you gift card on behalf of the club as we have in the past.
