Smile guys need a socket, help me out please

hey guys, i need a deep 1/2 17mm swivel impact socket for installing my new lift kit, i'll be down at the meeting tomorrow in my tan lc, just need it for the day will ship it back to you, thanks much

I don't own swivel sockets, but it looks like you can pick up sets relatively cheap online:

what lift? I don't remember needing anything like a swivel socket

I'm taking a wild guess here and thinking you're trying to get the top nylon nut off on the front shock on the driver's side? And you're running into the brake dookickey?

if that's the case... put a box wrench on it and let it hit something stable so it won't move and then turn the top of the actual shock housing

I used pliers and a hammer to put my lift on..

well, not really but there is nothing you should need out of the ordinary (like swivel impacts) to get this done.

i tried the box wrench and can't get a good enough grip on the shock housing to get it off, i think i have it figured out, we'll see

Exactly... use a pipe wrench on the big diameter of the shock below, while your box wrench up top is pressed against something. If you have a helper, they can hold the wrench up top, but your leverage is going to be with the big pipe wrench down below.

edit: Yes you will put marks on the shock but you can do this without denting or damaging them, they can totally be reused. How do you think I went from stock to 850's to 850's plus spacers to 850j's to Slee 4" Wes? in fact I think I sold you those shocks..
