Default SoCal Teardrops.. another cool camper

I ran into this web site tonight.. if I were in the market for a Kimberly or something I would really think about this one.. seem to combine the best of both worlds? I really like it.. http://www.socalteardrops.com/original.html

note the 80 series and Kaymar.. these guys must be alright!

That's pretty cool. I like the teardrop campers but they are tiny...Never thought of mounting a RTT to the top of one for added space

Neat, hadn't seen the AT before.

I've poked my head in a few teardrops and they are definitely small, but also quiet, warm, and cozy. For us I could see girls sleeping inside, boys upstairs in the RTT working out pretty good. But I just can't get past the outdoor kitchen thing, and having to set up a bunch of walls if it's windy. One of the best aspects of our current popup is that we can just get up in the morning and start some water, get the kids some cereal, etc., without even going outside.

$10k-$15k?!?

Wow, it makes the idea of renting an RV much more palatable.

I am just not sure how many times I would use that in a summer.

Maybe life will settle down in a few years and we would go out more...

yea ouch 10 to 15k

ever hear of 'little guy' teardrops?

they make an 'off road' version called rough-rider

they make a 4, 5, or 6 'wide' platform option for all the various trailers.

they dont' look as slick, no roof top tent option, but there is a 'side' tent option (off the side of the door)

pricing says "call local dealer"

so I did.

I called a local dealer A and A auto, spoke with Harry, real nice guy
asked him ball park on a rough-rider he said "$3000 on up ...you can go all the way up to $4500 or $5000 if you wanted" ...

looks like a possible viable alternative....
he says they're 'sellin a lot of 'em, might have to wait'

hoping one of you all had some more real life experience with any of them...

Simps, those little guys look pretty sweet, and a RTT/outside room option would make them all that much better. Looking at all these just makes me want to build one for some reason...
