Thumbs up Many Thanks to Rising Sun (esp. Jeff)

A big thanks to everyone at Rising Sun for all that's involved in making CM06 possible!

With a fair amount of apprehension my wife and I decided it sounded like fun and attended with my DD 62, stock with sliders. It was more than fun!

I want to publicly thank Jeff Zepp who was the leader of my first 2 trails ever in Moab. Not only did Jeff provide excellent advice, tips and spotting, he also provided his cool & calm assurance that I could do things I never thought possible in my stock rig. I learned more about my truck and my driving than I expected. My confindence in the 62 and my driving exceeded my expectations and I had a great time.

Thanks Jeff and thanks again to everyone involved in this great event. I'm looking forward to next year already!

You're quite welcome! It was a pleasure meeting you and your wife Barb, and I'm glad you had a good time - that's what it's all about.

Among the things I love to do is to show people what their rig is capable of, and even more, what they are capable of, for their first time. I just love when eyes get wide, and then the permagrin sets in - totally priceless!

Chris, I posted up a shot of your permagrin in the trip report section :-)

Posted on Mud as well. Thanks to the CM people. I think the event ran super smooth and I really liked the addition of the sat phone to the leaders equipment. Made for a lot of peace of mind when taking a big group out.

Also, I think the camp ground was nice, some hickups with camp ground management. Certainly things to be discussed and to decide. Dave and I had a brief conversation with Gina after the event, but she was still a little shell shocked.

I would suggest that we seriously look into renting a complete campground for the event. This will solve a lot of problems and consolidate the event again.

Other than that, a blast, I did not have to wrech, which was good and Sonia enjoyed her first Moab event.

Did you do any wrenching, or did you drink less this tear so you wouldn't be wreching?

Curious, what was she shell shocked about?

We did try to reserve the entire campground, she wouldn't let us. We tried to reserve the entire row closest to the pavillion back in November, she wouldn't let us. When I finally got through and reserved, I was assured I would get a spot on that row, When I arrived, she had stuck me way off in the corner.

I think our group is a little rowdier than her typical customers. Did you see any groups of old RV geezers walking around the campground at 11 p.m. with beers, laughing loudly and having a good time? I sure did not.

Maybe she'll let us reserve the whole thing for 2007.

.
Don't Christo, Nakman, Coberly and me count? Although Dave Brown wasn't out after 11PM.

We do own some bad-ass recreational vehicles. I'm not quite ready for geezer status, though.

Getting the "whole thing" will continue to be the ultimate dream for me as well.
