Thanks all. My first time trying to weld 3/8" thick steel - that's some beefy, heavy plate. I think my Lincoln MIG was a bit under-powered, but it seems like I got decent penetration?



That sub-woofer doesn't do much with stock wiring and the stock head unit. It needs some more power before I start pumpin' out the Beastie Boys.....

Welding a brace onto the back of the skid plate. One side of the brace bolts to the frame, and the other I welded to the skid plate just behind the Tcase drain plug. The brace will help keep the skid from flexing up into the Tcase in the event of a hard belly flop.

You can see the brace in the previously posted picture of the full skid plate. It's on the left side of the picture bolted to the frame near the exhaust.
