I would say there is more than 7K invested in that truck.

Yup! There is alot more than 7K invested. If I did it from scratch I would probably spend between $12-18K doing all the work myself. Im just nervous about pulling the trigger on a built rig like that. The price is intriguing. Not sure if its the right thing to do or not.

With the 3.0, I'd prefer a 5 speed. But maybe with the 4.88's it would be Ok?

Is this a trail truck, or something you'd take on a family camping trip?

Nice rig but seems very top heavy...at least when comparing to something like Scotty's built up 4Runner

I ran that model with the 3.0 and 5.29's 5sp and 33"s and it was slow up the hills. If you plan on driving it to the mountains you will be in 2nd and 3rd all day long Just ask Rudy, he has the old body style but same motor with a 5sp. In Arizona it may be OK but here in CO you will loose 30% of the power.

Now if you like the rig you can buy it and swap a 3.4 in, much easier than a 4cyl one. I would keep looking for a newer rig with a 3.4 and add some things to it later you will be much happier. Just my real life experience, there is a reason they call it 3.slow

I always liked that body style. I would agree way more than 7k invested.

If you're asking if that truck is worth 7k, absolutely. It has been built and shown on the web mostly for the last 5-7 years.

If you're asking if that rig is a good wheeler as it is set up, then sure, it is a good drive, wheel and come home set up. It could use more gearing with that engine but that is a pretty standard issue with trucks of this generation.

It's got good parts and is well taken care of. What are you looking to do with it?

It does not have any posts on mud for over a week and have not heard back from the owner yet if it is still available. It is set up the way I want it minus a 3.4, which would be the first thing I do to it. Just waiting to see if it is still for sale.
