X2 on that area. Great scenery mild trials. I recommend staying in Salida, great little town with good restaurants and bars.

Default I travel to Buena often

But we usually drive the convertible. The C70 doesn't really like off roading. I have a good friend that lives there. we spent the evening in Salida a few weeks ago. nice little town. We had a great time at the bar down on the river. I can see now lilred will be making the trip more often.

It would'nt be Dr. Theodore John "Ted" Kaczynski would it? He has a room with a view down there.

I didn't cousin Ted lived at the big house in Buena, I'll wave at him next time I drive by. It is a great view. But I wonder how much he gets to see.... he may spend a lot of time face down.

A couple others:

Guanella Pass from Grant to Georgetown (it's just a dirt road). Off of Guanella Pass Road on the Georgetown side of the pass is one of our Adopt-a-Roads, Argentine Pass/Leavenworth Creek. Good stuff

Also, the Oh My God Road from Idaho Springs to Central City (or vice versa) is a good one too (also just a dirt road, but gives you a feel for the area)

I believe you can't get across Guanella Pass Road due to construction this summer...which ticks me off cause I like bumpy, washboardey old dirt roads. But I suppose people have to have some roads to drive their X5s and Allroads on. You can access it part way from each side, just not get through.

Some people don't like spilling their lattes all over their 80's. That is why I stick to Colorado Blvd. Watch for my trail report.
