Default Washout on White Rim trail

Big storms caused a huge washout at the Mineral Bottom switchbacks. The article below says "several weeks" for repairs, but I've also heard much longer than that (like over a year) before the full loop can be completed again.

Man, that sucks, really so for people who want to raft Labyrinth Canyon.

True, and it would really suck to be stuck at the bottom..

How steep is that wash... could one drive up the river bed to get out? Just fantasizing about what I'd do if stuck down there... would you try to build the road back up? or could you get away with a more point & shoot approach?
