Default Shop Recommendations

The 'new' 3B diesel engine gets dropped off on Tuesday. I bought it to rebuild and swap into my BJ44 as the 2B has a head gasket leak and would be almost the same cost to fix as this project.

So, I get to dismantle it and before the rebuild have a need for recommendations.

Does anyone know of a good machine shop to check the block and head and machine everything? A diesel specific place would be great as the block will need semi finished cylinder liners to be pressed and and then bored out. I'd also need to get the crank and such checked and honed.

Thanks,

Kraig

Check with Gunn Automotive on S. Federal in Denver, I think they do machine work on diesels too.

Mountain High Performance was a recommendation I got from Robbie for some head work on my sister's 3.0. I was pretty pleased with them.

And they were at least SOMEWHAT familiar with Toyota Diesels. The guy I talked to actually knew that they existed (and wanted to know about the clatter my truck made).

I wouldn't hesitate to bring them any of my diesel goodies.
