Default Ouray area over the next week

How much snow is in the Ouray area? I am tempted to make one last ride this weekend.

A few years back, I unable to do anything in mid Sept due to snow and know it could change any minute.

I was just over in Carbondale and not a bit of snow between there and Denver. Not sure it is that much different further south but maybe Terry or Corbet will chime in as they are closer to the area.

The other thought is just Google search "Jeep rental Ouray CO" or similar and call up one of the places that rents Jeeps down there.

Thanks for the information. I did call up one place and they said that Saturday will be their last day to work for the year--not reassuring.

They did say that there was only a little powdering in the passes now.

Here's two pictures I snapped this morning flying over for you...

That's a lot more snow than we got towards Idaho Springs. I'm not sure exactly how much snow that is on the ground, but it could easily be a few inches up high.

I don't think there is much but I'll know more by tomorrow afternoon as we got a little wheeling trip planned tomorrow.

snow line at 11400 in the San Juans today. But only in the shade and less than 1". That is as high up as I went.
