Default Jerry cans

What is the best Jerry can that can be bought these days? I would like to get the NATO can with the metal locking lid but, unless someone knows different, they can't be bought any more. There are the heavy plastic Scepter military gas can but civilians can't buy them.

Any thoughts?

Scepters can be found. Ebay or out of Canada.

They are worth it IMO. I got a few off Ebay and other places

This is where I bought my plastic Scepters a couple of years ago. Not sure if they are still shipping them to the US or not.

https://dstactical.com/index.php?cPath=16_54

EDIT: I just clicked on one of them and there is now a note that says they cannot be shipped out of Canada. Your fine govt regs at work.

I bought blue 20L Scepter water cans at Bass Pro Shop for less than $20 a couple of years ago too.

Try these guys if you can live with the metal cans. They also have the 10 liter cans.

if you want to get 4 of the new 20 liter cans from this place:

http://www.deutscheoptik.com/catalog...oducts_id=1718

I'll pay you for 2 of them. I got some used ones from swiss army vehicles and they are nice, but they are used (gas, diesel). Now that I saw how nice they are (got here today) I want to ditch my plastic water jug and use a few of these for water so they need to be brand new.

What do you think?

here's a few places that still sell them:

http://www.roverparts.com/Parts/GJC20.cfm

http://www.expedition-imports.com/ E-I gets them all the time in big ship containers from eastern Europe. Not on the website, but call. I got my last 2 cans from them in April.

BTW, good spouts are very hard to find. I prefer the Super Siphon about half way down this page. It will empty a 20l can in less than 2 minutes and is super easy to use. No spilling whatsoever!

Does anyone have ideas on how to secure 2-6 20L scepters to a roof rack? I've only got the african outback dual mount, and have been brainstorming on how to get all 6 up there. Each and every solution = $$$!
