Anything you will spend on a mechanic check before you buy a used car, will always be less then what I spent...

Yep, "coming in hot" does not work out to well when buying a used car.

Long story short, I thought I found a good vehicle, drove it home from St. Louis, MO, had it checked out, it didn't pass inspection, drove it back to St. Louis yesterday.

I am out 2 plane tickets and paid for the mileage used on the car.

Anyway, special thanks to Robbie and Barry for taking a look at it for me and all of you that I called when I was enroute both ways.

Chris, I'm dieing for details.What did you find out? That bad that you turned around and drove it back? Wow!!

Another 100 guy in suspense...

I had a pretty good scare on mine, at first my mechanic said it had been in a head on collision. WTF? When I went to see what he was talking about, they apologized profusely and said the tech thought he was answering another question about the car when the mechanic asked about any other issues he should report. It seems they found all of the stickers indicating original equipment while I was on my way there. No accident. Original straight everything. Phew!
