Default Flip or not to Flip?

Wife wants a basic video camera. Should she get a Flip or some other comparable camera(Sony, Panasonic). What ever she ends up with must interface with a Mac.

BUMP

I'm interested as well what people think of the Flips etc. The bought us one for Christmas but I'm thinking I want something a little more advanced. I love my old Sony 8mm camcorder but I'm wanting something HD that will take good wheeling vids as well as good indoor kid soccer, concert, etc. vids.

We are happy with ours. The only regret is that we didn't get the HD version. It does a very good job generally. We have shot indoors, outdoors, from the truck, while wheeling, while walking etc. I have no clue as to mac compatability, though. I'm a PC

Here is a post with some footage we took at CM 2010.

We have the HD version and it works great. I'm amazed at how good it is for the low price.

The wife is here and bought the Mino HD Flip today!! Even found a coupon on-line for $10.00 off. Thanks for all the advice! It is Mac compatible. I should have it in a few days and will post on how I like it! I think it will work out great. I did other research and the Flip came out with good reviews for what I want to use it for.
