Default Getting licensed

OK so I did a search on learning the stuff and getting licensed for HAM, but dont see any answers to my questions. I would like to know how other people have done it. I am mostly interested in online reading and testing. Links would be cool as well.

The information Wes posted up is really good stuff. I found the first link (Study Guide) to be excellent and used the second link (practice tests) to confirm that I was ready to take the exam.

This link will help you find a Test near you.

Allison and I did the practice tests online and were able to get to a point that we were confident we'd pass the real test once taken. We also did the Ham class the Nathaniel and Dave did for the club a while back and learned a lot in it.

I'd say the way to do it with minimum investment is to do the technicians online practice tests until you are passing cleanly, then just go take the test at the location nearest you.

Brian (SeldomSeen) posted this a long time ago. Too bad we don't flame in the Ham & CB Radio Corner, or you'd be flamed for missing the sticky at the top of the page!

Welcome.

Let us know if you need anything else.

+1 on this. I also used it for Tech, General, and Extra. Passed Tech and General in one sitting. If you study an hour or so a night, you can be ready for those two in 10 days - 2 weeks tops.

I hope with a licensed control operator.
