Talking Cruiser Outfitters

A quick update. Kurt is the man. On Tuesday before heading off to CM, he kicked butt, took names, and got me the correct cylinder. Rear brakes are all buttoned up and looking good. Now I just have to fix up the fronts and bleed, bleed, bleed.

My 71 has 8 cylinders and 8 bleeders. My 76 only has drums in the rear but each of the 4 cylinders has its own bleeder. Haven't had to bleed my 78 yet so I really haven't looked. But glad Kurt got you hooked up.

Kurt is a great guy and consider myself fortunate to know him.

My '77 has jumpers so I only have one bleeder at each wheel.

Default Maiden Voyage

Got all the wheel cylinders either rebuilt or replaced. Took the maiden voyage around the cul-de-sac and then gave each of my boys and my wife a ride one at a time. Next project is to get the rear seat installed so all four of us and the dog can ride at the same time.

It stops ok, but I think I'm going to tighten up the adjusters just a little bit more on each wheel. I got a little chicken, even though I knew from reading on here and Mudd that I should adjust them a little further in than "felt" right.

Sweet! Glad to get that project behind you. Now you know more about Land Cruiser drum brakes than you ever wanted to!
