Default Mounting a CO2 tank horizontal?

Mounting on its side... seems to be a no-no. Why?

I think its because you want the gas not liquid spitting out of the hose? What about with the regulator sticking stright up?

Im curious.

You can mount it on its side but would have to set it valve up to use it for the reason you mentioned.

My tank is strapped in on its side next to the fender well behind the passenger side seat. It doesn't matter what orientation it is mounted, the only time orientation matters is when you use it. I unstrap it, take it out and set it upright to use it.
