Default Homemade skidplate...

Looking at the flimsy t-case skid, decided I need a bit more. Started with a beefed up version of the same thing. Made out of 3/8" steel. It's going to have support brackets off to the sides as well, just trying to figure out the best way to brace it.

thoughts welcome

1: side by side and my helper

2: the helper...helping...

3: installed...

run a piece of 1" box to the frame like a certain vendors, only do 1/4 tacks to hold the plate to the frame, instead of u bolts. Place a plate on the the tcase side of the brace for it to bolt to.

Very cool!

How much quicker did your project go with the aid of your helper?

Cool, I like the DIY approach.

I run the Slee t-case skid which has a bracket that goes up to the frame & gets U-bolted in place. Also have you see the IPOR skidplate? That one is serious, replaces the crossmember.. would take a bunch of work but I suspect you could fab up something similar if you had the time. But you better regear before bolting that thing on, it's heavy.
