Default firearm safety classes?

can anyone recommend any firearm safety classes or ranges that offer sessions like that? preferbly northside. I've done the google thing and have a list in front of me...but looking for experiences with one or another or a good referrel.

this club is close... http://www.boulderrifleclub.com/classes.html

After being out in the middle of nowhere/grizzly country - I kinda want to know how to safely use one of them things if needed.

I can probably put something together. My issue I run into is getting a range. I am a member of a rifle club that will not allow their facilities to be used for profit.
Also are you more interested in learning safety or getting a certification for a CCW?

I'm liking the guys at BluCore, but they aren't terribly Northside being at Wadsworth and Jewell.

Both, really. Any advice or recommendations on either/or/both? I assume the CCW cert. includes the safety stuff (??)

Lakewood ain't too far away...and they offer some good courses. (nice site, too).

Have you taken any courses through them?

I haven't personally taken any courses through them, although I likely will this winter. I have a buddy that took their pistol fundamentals class and really enjoyed it. He indicated that the instruction is very hands on and personal.

I've shot at the range a couple of times and can say from personal experience that the staff is great and the facility is really nice.

I am fond of Gunsmoke in Wheatridge for the CCW classes. Rich is a very experienced instructor(He taught under Jeff Cooper and was a master instructor for a metropolitan police department for years). I would go with one of his 3 day classes they are well worth the money. If you just want the cert for a CCW he teaches a one night glass for just about 100 bucks. Controversy and politics aside when you get him on the range he is one of the best pistol instructors in the country. I would give the class myself however it is a huge pain to find a range and classroom here in Denver. Most of them have instructors of their own and don't care to help the competition. As far a BRC I got a few of my instructor certs through them.

I did the BRC Personal Protection class last Winter. I liked it becaude they spend more time with you and you actually learn something. It's more than just the minimum you need to get your CCW. If you're on the north side, I'd recommend them strongly.
