Default EFI on a dirt bike?

Ran into this one while searching for CRF 70's.. http://denver.craigslist.org/mcy/3086820689.html a 2011 CRF 450 with EFI.

Is EFI just a Honda thing? or is this the future of all carbs? Anyone ridden one?

Works very well from all I understand. EFI can be remapped, too!

most all the new 450's are EFI, some of the 250's are too, the Yamaha WR450 is EFI this year. My next bike will be EFI, supposed to be much better throttle response and like Bill said, tuneable with a programmer

very cool

It sure allowed me to make the Hardley Makitson map much improved on the Buell. Went from nearly unrideable in hot weather and unpredictable on roll-on, to merely annoying at times.

Huh, interesting. Found a thread that details most of what would be involved to swap http://www.thumpertalk.com/topic/754605-efi-conversion/

Probably not worth it for me to do a conversion, but I could see this make the list for the next bike.

Just get a KTM 350 EXC-F for your next bike Tim, it's all ready to go.

That's funny, I think the 350 is next for sure. There's actually a 350 XCF-w for sale right now for $7400 http://denver.craigslist.org/mcy/3107635481.html from all the reviews I've read that just sounds perfect... same weight as our bike, but more powa!

do you know if the XCF-w is EFI? Or just the EXC-f? does -f denote fuel injection then?

F is four-stroke in typical KTM lingo (except for the 450 XC-W and 500 XC-W - I guess KTM figures you should know that a 450 and 500 cc bikes won't be 2-stroke ). I believe all 350s are EFI. All 350s are four-stroke.
