Default Music Pass / Sand Creek Lake

Anyone been to the Music Pass/Sand Creek Lake are before down by the Great Sand Dune NP?

Yes - a couple of times. It's not really close to the dunes.

Beautiful area, native greenbacks in Sand Creek. Heavy bear area, just fyi. Short hike in, under 3 miles in, and takes almost 4.5 hours to the trail head from denver.

I will echo what beater said. It is beautiful, but it is north of the Sand dunes quite a ways..

Medano pass is further south and is the one that goes over the Sangre De Christosand drops you into the dunes themselves... cool camping in the pass (much cooler), and you will cross the stream many times... depending on the time of year the last crossing can get deep...
