Default The New C7 Corvette

Pretty sweet looking car... the "new" Corvette Stingray.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsQGcD0TJvw

If you don't want to watch the whole thing the reveal starts about 34-35 minute mark.

Looks very hot.

Didn't watch the video, but it's all the rage right now in the automotive journalism sphere. They're claiming it's supposed to look like the early 70s Sting Rays... I saw it in some of the concept cars leading up to it, but this just looks like a C6 made love to a new Camaro. I don't see a single element of the Sting Rays... Not really digging it. Of course, you'll never find me behind the wheel of any plastic car (or any GM product for that matter).

You know what it looks like vaguely like to me is they took inspiration from one of the best looking (IMHO) Ferraris...

...the 250 GTO. Maybe one of the best looking cars ever.

I totally agree! I like it a lot!

Dave, I disagree with your comparo as The old 250 GTO's were round while the C7 is very squared off. The old Opal GT's were a dead ringer for the 250 GTO's IMO.

LOL, the Opel GT 4WD.

Yeah UB, the new 'Vette is like a bastard Blade Runner version of the 250 GTO. Just what I thought of when I saw the photo. Not to mention you could buy a fleet of 500 2014 Corvettes for what one real 250 GTO (Ferrari only made 39 of them) goes for at auction. Most recently it was north of $30 million for one.

Wow, that's pretty.... amazing what you can do with a radial arm saw and a couple of chains!

I'm diggin' the vettes though, like the old ones, like the new one. The 90's Steve Sanders style I could do without though, IMO.
