Default M-416 tires

Hey, I just picked up an M-416 trailer last week and ordered some Firestone military replacement tires and tubes. I now need to have these new tires and tubes installed, is there anything special about installing these or can any competent shop like Big-O or Pep Boys install these? By the way, the M-416 does NOT have split rims..

Thanks,

Any shop that does agricultural stuff will have a bit more experience. The shop that installed my tractor tires said that they use tons of talc and watch the new guys closely to be sure that tube-type tires and tubes are installed correctly without pinching the tubes.

Where did you get your tires and how much? I have a bantam trailer that needs tires but was shocked how much they cost on-line! Thx. Doug

buy a couple spoons and DIY.

I went thru 3 tubes getting these num nuts at 2 different tire shops to install a tube correctly. Even one dude that claimed he worked on all kinds of ag tires still fubar'd it

Finally I did it myself, right.

I did some searching and found that Performance Plus out of California was the best price delivered. Firestone Military 700x16 - NDT was $138.00ea with the tubes @ $14.95ea no shipping but a handling charge of $13.95 (and they were boxed). for a total of $319.85 delivered.. these are 6 ply and NICE, can't wait to get them on the trailer..

I have never tried to install my own tires, I can only imagine that you can really get hurt without the proper equipment.. Worth a try though...

Get a tire place to remove the old ones and put one bead on. Then, you only need to put in the tube and get the other bead to pop on. Easy.

Big O did mine on my M101 a few years back. Nothing to it.
