Default Help with a project... Sandblasted needed, north side.

I am gearing up to build my next mobile workbench for welding and general fab work. I scored a nice old vise on Craigslist and would like to sandblast it before rebuilding and painting it. I'm hoping to get some time on a sand/media blaster on the Northside (or metro area) to clean it up.

I can exchange your time for your favorite or if I could help you with a project in return, I'd be happy to oblige. if I need to buy media or whatever to make it happen, just let me know.

I'm working from home this week and have some flexibility in my schedule if you have a blaster and some time.

Feel free to PM me if you can help me out, thank you.

Here's a shot with a soda can for scale.

I have a sandblaster, I've never used it, want to use it? I would imagine you could get media from HF to use.

I have an 80 pound pressure blaster that you're welcome to use.
It makes a mess, but it works great as long as you have a compressor large enough to push it. I ran it on a 20 gallon compressor before, it just takes time to stop and go stop and go letting the compressor catch up.

I used it to sandblast my frame about seven years ago.
It works great and I'm not using it. so you can take your time with it. What I like to do for small projects is build a little work area out of plastic tarps. That way you can just sweep up the media, pour it through a screen and reuse it.

I don't see anything wrong with that vise

Looks just like the one sitting on my bench...same condition. Just lube it up and go for it.

Just kidding...good luck with the project.

Ige, if that's an invite, let me know if you fire it up.
