Default Camping ideas for this summer?

I just got an email from my Cousin, who lives in Utah, and they want to meet us for a weekend camp.

She wants to meet about half way...And I don't know of anything between us and Salt Lake City.

They have ATV's, I have my FJ40 (or will by then). Planning to go sometime in June. We tent camp, they are not opposed to it, and have a tent, but they usually stay in a camper.

Any and all suggestions are welcome on camp spots!

Thanks!

Not quite half way, 4 hours from Denver and 6 hours from Salt lake, but I really like the white river national forest around meeker. I only camped in one place there, Trappers Lake, but we had a great time hiking and fishing. I have not been there for many years and I am sure there are other places around the area if that seems like a good middle ground.

Ridgway State Park is pretty neat.

problem is the halfway point is basically the state line (I-70 Route) and in June that will be on the hot side.

That said you have OHV areas in the Fruita and Grand Junction area. Colorado National Monument. The Colorado River. Great mountain biking. And Mike the Headless Chicken all at your fingertips right there.

HWY40 route halfway is around Dinosaur National Monument. Again hot in June but still a neat place with few visitors. I can't speak for OHV use but if your with kids they will love the dino bones. Green River offers rafting options.

San Rafael Swell near Mexican Mountain...right along a nice little river, or go into Echo Park in Dinosaur National Monument...again, right next to the river. (I like rivers! especially when it is hot out.)
