Default Gates Sponsored World Explorers Visiting Denver

Some exciting news! One of the Gates sponsored vehicle teams, The Turtle Expedition, will visit the Gates World HQ on Monday, April 15, from 10:00 AM - Noon. This is an fantastic opportunity to meet true world adventurers who have made their life about visiting the far reaches of our planet. Take a minute and learn more about The Turtle Expedition by visiting their website: www.turtleexpedition.com.

Gary & Monika Wescott, (aka The Turtle Expedition) have been exploring the world for over 40 years. Their travel adventure and technical articles have been published in ten countries and eight languages. Following a 50,000-mile, 14-month circumnavigation of South America in 1988, they returned to build their fourth expedition truck. In 1996 they became the first people on record to drive across all of Russia, including Siberia, from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic, wheels on the ground. They followed tracks up the frozen Lena River for 700 miles with daytime temperatures often below 50F.

Now in a specially built, expedition equipped Ford F-550 (their fifth expedition truck), they are starting The Trans-Eurasian Odyssey, driving from Lisbon, Portugal to Beijing, China through 26 countries and following the legendary Silk Road, an adventure they expect will take at least three years. The Gates Corporation supports their expeditions by providing parts for their exploration equipped vehicle.

If you are in downtown Denver Monday morning, swing by The Gates Corporation at 1551 Wewatta Street to spend a few minutes meeting and learning more about these two daring and adventurous explorers!

They will be out in front of the Gates building from 10 am to noon.
