Default 1980 Toyota Hilux RN47 4x4

SOLD

I love this truck and hate to sell it, but I need $$ to recoup funds for my recent FJ60 acquisition. Borrowed some money from the and need to repay, and she isn't cool with 4 vehicles in the driveway.

I've owned this truck for a few years now. Bought it from John C. here on RS. It needed some work when I got it and I've put a lot into it and kept it maintained. It has treated me well and true to the Hilux reputation, it is a darn good, reliable truck.

It's not pretty, has some dents, rust, leaks and squeaks. But, it's a great work truck for hauling firewood and home depot runs. Everyone needs a truck for something, and this one costs less than most trailers, AND you can go 4 wheeling, camping, and road tripping in it. I drove this all of last summer commuting back and forth between Evergreen and LaVeta twice a week. I probably put about 6000 trouble free miles on it last summer.

This is the super longbed model with power steering, the latch tailgate, wing windows on the doors, sliding rear window, and No Catalytic Convertor required.

I don't know what the mileage is since the odometer only counts up to 99,999. Probably 207K if I had to guess. The 20R engine is still tight. The 4 speed and 4WD shift smooth. Brakes and clutch are fine.

Here's a list of what I've done to it since I've owned it:

•Rebuilt carb
•Replaced all vacuum tubing and corrected Emissions connections
•New check valve on emissions rail
•New battery (Napa75)
•Replaced missing fusible link
•New radiator, hoses, thermostat
•New belts
•New Fuel cap
•New cap/rotor/plugs and wires
•New muffler
•New Clutch Master and Slave Cylinders
•New Brake Master Cylinder
•New side marker lights all around
•Valve adjust and valve cover gasket
•New Exhaust manifold studs
•Replaced rear pinion seal and rear TC output seal
•Added rear mud flaps that were missing
•Replaced the front grill with a good used unit. (old one was cracked and missing correct clips)
•Added bed rails that will accept Yakima 1A towers. (had my RTT on it)

•Just did a full front axle service including seals, trunnion bearings, wheel bearings, felts, etc. I used a Marlin kit. Birfs and spindles looked great. 6/12/13

•Just had an oil change and new air filter. 6/12/13

I'm sure there is more, but that's what I can recall off the top of my head. It passes emissions no problem.

It has a full set of 5 FJ60 wheels on it with BFG AT's 31x10.50-15. One is newish which replaced a punctured tire, the rest are decent. I also have a full set of 5 steel Hilux wheels I will include.

In addition to a lot of spare and new parts that I will include, I have a brand new set of OEM Toyota front fenders. The fenders on the truck have the worst of the rust, so I bought new fenders and planned to squirt some paint on them and go, but never did. So, you can put them on, or sell them. They were around $500 for the set when I purchased them.

What the truck needs (besides a new owner).

•Windshield. There's a big crack. I have a new OEM gasket. Just need some glass.
•Fuel Gauge is innacurate, so might need a sending unit.
•There's a couple of oil leaks, but only losses a few drops here and there.
•Exhaust studs needed to be helicoiled. It's fine now, but in the future, the correct fix would be to pull the head and put in inserts.

It would be great to see this truck stick around. It has history and is a good one.

SOLD

Come take it for a drive, Dave. It's a fun little truck. And like you said, it's a perfect weekend chore truck, winter rig and back up driver. Wish I could justify keeping just for my slash hauling and firewood gathering.

That thing is sweet. I had that same one in the Toyota Galavan model. Classics. Tough as nails too.

I have a gallon of PPG in tan that I bought by accident. Why don't you put those fenders on and get it painted. You could ebay it and get far more than what you are asking.
