How sad... I'm glad you got most of it back in one piece. What's left is just parts replacement.

Man.... that sucks to hear. I'm still confused on the scrapping part I guess.

You don't have to fill out paperwork and show some form of ID to scrap a vehicle? Whoever dropped the truck off just had some fake paperwork, and that's all? No leads from there? No video surveillance from the date and time the truck was dropped off?

I'm not sad. Please remember how lucky I am. Now I have a reason to build my axles first. I already have a 5.29 diff, and I was parting my 89 too, so i have parts. Also, I have to stress, Metal Movers made it worth my time. What is sad, is, think how many peoples beautiful Toyota's are crushed before they ever know?

That's mostly what makes me sad. That's probably where my truck ended up...

Yes, they have all of that. And I have agreed to cooperate prosecuting. I can't give details but common sense fills in most of the blanks.

So the thieves went straight from Water World to Metal Movers? You'd think you'd at least need a title with a matching VIN. When you go in to register a truck and throw money at the DMV, God help you if the pile of paperwork has just one mistake. But try to fence a stolen truck, open arms, no questions asked.

Don't feel bad. I've got another rig and its all just stuff. It sucks but it has only made me more cautious.

How about tires alone that could be sold for the price of wieght in scrap. or the brand new registration, on a scrapper? Or the $300 Odyssey battery?

I would get a attorney and sue Metal Movers for repairs and damages, sounds like they are liable! Just a thought
