Default Hagerman Pass

Took a "shortcut" home from a conference in Snowmass. Hagerman Pass is between Basalt and Leadville. There are a few options on the drive. great remote area. Very little traffic.

Boat camping at Ruedi Reservoir.

The route has a 230KV Denver-Grand Junction power transmission line. It mars the view but made for a great remote road, with some fun sections.

The main pass road is pretty easy, some water, puddles and great view at the top.

Patches of snow at the top and a great campsite where I hoped I'd get the sunrise.

The Sunrise was perfect. It was a quick trip down past some historical sites that beg for further exploration.

The view on Thursday morning's drive up via Leadville and Independence pas was spectacular too.

Very cool. Love that place.
You know, I once saw a guy drive a little chevy Cobalt over that pass back in '09. It was pretty funny when he crossed that irrigation water crossing. It was a lot higher at the time. I thought I was gonna need to pull him through.

Anyways, nice pics.

Mosquito pass and Haggerman pass make a good double pass trip.
