Default Looking for a 4runner

My cousin recently moved to Denver and landed a job at the Parker School District. His 02 Accord has some issues and he is ready to sell it for a 4runner. Sounds like he wants something in the in the years 1998 and up and his price range is under $10,000. He's not a car guy so I'm trying to help him find something that is not beat down. Anyone have one or know of one that is in good shape? Thanks.

5 speed or auto? There are many auto trans trucks floating around, but most have 200-250K miles. Not sure if that scares him or not. '01 and '02 have full time 4WD, which some people seek out. 2000 is the last year of the 5 speed and they are rather rare.

He is looking for an auto. I have told him miles should not be a major concern but he is want's something with around 125,000 or less. He's focused on finding one at a used car lot...which scares me to death.

125 k or less is not going to be in his price range unless he finds something really beat up, or a sweet old-lady deal. Most of the ones in that range I found a couple years ago when I was looking were well upwards of 10k.

But, good deals do come along.

I'll keep my eyes out.
