Default Looking for a local CMM service

I would like to get a 3D model for a 2f closed combustion chamber so I can do a CNC cleanup on a couple of them (heads, not chambers). I thought about a couple of ways I could hack this up with a digital probe using my CNC mill, but I don't yet have the probe and programming it is going to be a PITA anyway, so I thought I'd see if anyone here has a lead on a local service that does this, and if so maybe get a clue on the kind of cost I'd be looking at to have it done?

check these guys out. A laser scan will likely be a bit more affordable, and will probably give you better contouring. it's not nats ass accurate, but probably more than sufficient for what you are after

hope that helps, no idea on cost.

Wonder how much it costs to get an entire truck scanned on the exterior, but including the frame. I always thought that was super smooth technology.

Thanks for the plug Stan! Our current 3D scanning equipment maxs out at 3M x 3M x 3M, not enough for a car.

Nice! I didn't know that you did 3D scans. Good to know. What equipment are you using? Figured it out in your site. Cool stuff.

For small objects the Makerbot Digitizer has a scan volume of 8" tall x 8" diameter, our 3D Systems' Sense scanner will work with a volume up to 3m x 3m x 3m (as above).
