Yeah, the answer is more training, like don't surf and drive. I know the spokesman says if you drive enough it's inevitable but if this was a NAPA parts driver, cabbie or UPS guy they'd be stuck driving a desk for awhile or maybe fired.

Wow. That same thing happened to my new truck parked in front of a buddy's house two months ago, except it was a drunk hit and run that got me, not somebody who can actually be held responsible for your damages. My repair bill was $9300 and some change. I hope this all works out OK for you in the end.

That really sucks John. I had a new truck rear ended twenty years ago (not quite as much damage as yours). Insurance gave me a check to repair it but it still sickened me that I had just bought a new truck and after repairs it would just never be the same. Fingers are crossed that they'll total it.

I was watching the news last night and saw the story. I told my wife, "Hey, I know that guy! He is in Rising Sun." Bummer about the truck. I hope they total it so you don't have to deal with getting it repaired.
