Default Scott Yoder Is Broken Down in the Flat Tops

Howdy,

Just got a phone call from a MTB guy who said he ran into Scott in the mtn's north of Glenwood springs. It sounds like Scott's transfer case blew up out in the flat tops

according to the guy they have 3 days of food and water and are monitoring 146.470 so they can hang for a bit. Also sounds like the failure is fairly significant so it's a tow the rig out to pavement kind of thing... probably not a figure out what spares he needs and bring them deal. The MTB guy mentioned "his transfer case blew up" and that's about all i got. I am thinking pull driveshafts and drag it.

The directions were described to me as follows for the record:

*exact location removed*

Can anybody go? Two vehicles might be good since i bet they are hunting, so it's two of them with gear. I might be able to do it by myself if I can go but I have some leaks in my rig that might not like HWY time from Boulder. I'm trying to figure out if that's an issue right now and will post up in a bit my decision and when i might leave if I can.

ALSO, the repeater near him is down, I chatted with some folks on the colorado connection and they told me that.. I dont think he has cell coverage.

Thoughts? can anybody head up there or is anybody close?

I'm in Oregon but there is a FB group called "Colorado 4x4 Rescue & Recovery". I can reach out to them if no one is available

Well crap... Usually my weekends are empty and I love rescue missions. Truck/trailer with 4wd on the back... Roll in, wheel the 4wd. pull the runner out, load it on the trailer and leave them the new 4wd so they can continue with their trip. I have the means, just don't have a free day to do it

If you leave now, it will be well after Midnight when you get there

I've got a few guys from CO Recovery willing to help but need to know what the "needs" are. I'll be back in CO late tomorrow evening

No one home at the Yoder residence (7:50pm). Called the home numbers I had and they are all disconnected.

OK, I am changing plans a bit, I think i am jumping the gun. I'm not sure what he needs but I am going to try to figure it out. Can't really hail him on the connection due to vail or breck repeater being jacked.

Travis, thanks for reaching out, At this point I'm not sure what his needs are I can only guess he wants to get the truck to a more accessible place. I spoke to Wes who is travelling and he mentioned that it is 4x4 stuff back there but maybe only a few miles of anything that might need 4x4 in bigger rigs.

Gonna hang tight tonight, get some rest and reasses in the AM.

Shifting tentative departure to early AM. maybe I can find a dolly..

Craig repeater is down but Glenwood has very good coverage in that area. Won't help much though if he's monitoring 146.470 simplex. Has anyone tried to get a txt message through? Can anyone let him know to switch over to 146.850- 123hz tone?

Breck changed to a 88.5 hz tone. That may be you're problem.
