Default FJ60 Snorkel install - need info on connecting to air cleaner

After crossing the Delores a couple times with water over the hood...it's time to 'snork' the 60. Yep, gonna cut a hole in my rust free 60.

I've been perusing the threads on Mud for hooking up the airbox. (thanks Britklr for your posts). Basically, it looks like you cut off the intake, cut a hole in the other side of the air cleaner then weld the intake and patch the hole.

Has anyone here done this with their 60? any advice? things to watch out for, etc?

I did pick up a used air cleaner as a spare or for extra parts.

you loose the hot air warm up from the exhaust manifold.

Or you could leave it as is and get longer flex hose to run it around to the stock location

If you'd like to take a look at the system lmk and I can meet you sometime or bring the 60 to the next meeting.

Default I'll do that

It looks like you have two air cleaners, I've usually seen one or the other. Why's that? Also, I have my arb compressor where that air cleaner would go.

I haven't had that warm air thingie in a while. But have a replacement.. Would the long routing of the intake hose decrease the efficiency much?
