Sounds like fun. I'm not familiar with the junk yards around here. So it would be cool to go with others.

I was planning on going to C&M steel and find some scrap to make new hangers out of. With any luck I might find a piece of C-channel long enough to make enough hangers for everyone. We'll see.

Let's keep this going. Sounds like a blast.

As far as a parts list goes… Looks like we need C-channel wide enough to fit the springs in. The actual springs and some flat stock to fabricate shackles with. Also, if you don't already have longer brake lines on the rear, that should also be purchased. Also, longer rear shocks to accommodate the longer travel capacity. Be thinking on something for a bump stop, if you don't already have them. And I'm thinking about possibly using short pieces of cable to fabricate some travel limiters. I've got longer shocks, but I don't know that they are THAT long. Just something to think about.

Do you think they'll have 63" springs from a '99 1/2 ton?

But yeah, I'd be interested in going with ya.

I was thinking about checking out Chevy Truck Parts in Hudson.

They might. I'm headed there looking for seats. If the Taco ones I'm looking at don't pan out I'll want some from CFA. I might make a Yota Jim run too for the hell of it.

So I fabricated these last night for forward spring hangers. They're 1/4" thick and have exactly 3" on the inside to fit the springs. Squishy and Baja1d, I've got two more sets ready to be cut and drilled.

Now, as far as rear shackles go, I think we may get away with using something that's not so wide and having bent drop down shackles. At least I know I will have to use them on account of having to have enough lift to compensate for the old 4" lift blocks that I have on there now.

Default 63" 1-Ton Chevy leaf springs.

Looking good. I'll have to "outboard" mine for the one tons. It'll be easy enough to do a similar set up on yours as well & use a normal hanger

You're gonna put one-ton springs on yours?
