Default Frozen Spring Pin on tire carrier

What do you guys do to deal with the freezing of the spring pin on your swing out tire carriers? My freezes up with just about every snow/cold spell combo, or when I take it up to Summit Co.

O ring on the top and Paldium is working real well on mine. When it was -15 below, the moisture in the grease froze but you could still move the pin.

I keep a bottle of this handy during the winter months. Works OK without having WD40 all over the handle.

I removed my swing out tire carrier for that very reason. Hopeless in the mountains in the winter.

Hopeless is right. I love crawling over the back seat to get all the ski/board gear 'cause I can't get to the hatch....

Thanks for the ideas.
