Default Wanted: 1FZE Enigine- FJ80

Looks like CM2014 may have put the "Green Bean's" engine over the edge. I'm still driving it daily but adding about 1qt of oil every 400 miles. It's got 260k on the clock and at $10,000 to rebuild I'd like to source a donor. Anyone have one that they may not use? Oleg's got one but he may use it on a build... keeping my fingures crossed at this point!

In todays market you should be able to get a complete running parts truck for a couple grand. Probably not the number your looking for but at $10K for a full rebuild....

Problem is that most get to parts status due to the engine.

If you think it a head problem scroll down the page to Daniel's listing

I had that same thought. Looked for some "unlocked" ones today but it's slim pickens.

I think it maybe rings. Coolant looks good & just little puffs of smoke when accelerating

I'd put in a V8 if I had to do it all over again. Similar cost, more power and better mileage. But, in theory, you will be able to score a decent used engine and do the swap yourself.

What points to rings?

Also considered but I really wanted this to be a simple swap versus fabrication, etcetera. Just the smoke and quart of oil every 400 miles but I really haven't had a chance to investigate it much
