Default Redoing My Seats

I have been reading this site for the past year. I have learned so much and have found great people to do work on my truck. I had my engine and other items redone by Robbie and with A&A Performance in Englewood. All great vendors. So, I thought I would share with you my most recent experience with a vendor on my interior.

This is the driver seat that is just shredded. If I had time and talent, I would have tried to install Shane's Leather but I have neither time, nor talent. So, I was going to go with seat covers.

After looking at the prices of some seat covers, I did some Craigslist searching and found these guys. Nick at Platinum Auto Restorations in Lakewood. He could recover the seats for $230 each. I have a 97 LC and I thought the seats were all leather. As it turns out, most of the seats are actually more vinyl than leather. For Colorado weather, it turns out that Vinyl is actually a preferred choice especially since most people don't condition their seats the way they should.

So, I decided I would do the passenger side. This is how it looked before:

So, I was set to do just the two seats. After meeting Nick, he took a look at the back seats and said that he could make them look great by dying these seats to take out the scratches and then for quick measure, the leather on the center console.

Then, they were having a special on the repairing the steering wheel. I had this super thick cover over it and it was huge.

So, I dropped the truck off on Thursday afternoon initially with just the front and passenger seats to be done. By the time I left, I also have the back seats being dyed, the console cover being redone and the steering wheel.

I will pick it up on Sunday. So far, Nick has been great to work with.

I'll let you know how it goes!

Default Finished Seats

So, I just got back from Platinum Auto Restorations. I love the work that they did. Contact Nick at 720-579-3557 and say you are from Rising Sun. He said he will give you a really great price. I have to say that the prices he gave me were better or in line with the 4 other folks I talked to. He also returns text messages really fast! I like that.

Here are some pictures of the finished product. He didn't do the steering wheel because he needed some different product so I'll repost after I get that done.

All said and done. I love my seats!! Very happy! I think my family may actually ride with me now!

Very cool. Thanks for posting. It's about time for you to make a signature line, isn't it?

Got to see David's seats in person today and they really do look amazing. Calling now to have the RV's seat redone...
