Default Official 2006 Triple Bypass Report

Okay, just wanted to be the first to say a HUGE thank you! to all who attended and especially yet again to the Millers for organizing, leading and hosting the greatest camping/wheeling trip I've ever been on! For those of you who decided there were better things to do this weekend than the TBP, you missed out on a good one! And on a related note, those of you who decided there were better things to do than run the double triple bypass (another thread) you missed out too! Let's just put it this way: in the last 2 1/2 days (60 hours), I've been driving for almost 30 hours. There was no breakage, only one occasion where it got kinda hairy and we had to break out the winch, the weather changed from sunny to snowy and everything in between, but it all added up to one great weekend!

Anyway, the food was awesome, the group was awesome, the scenery was awesome, and for me it was the best thing I could have possibly done this weekend. Truly amazing, fantastic, memorable. My camera cannot download pics to my 'puter until I find a certain cd it needs, but for now I'll post up the route and route profile

BTW if anybody has pics of my truck (gray/silver FJ40 with 31x10.50 MT/Rs) and/or Ross' BJ74 could you send them to me theonlysubzali@hotmail.com?

Here's the lineup: 15 trucks
3 40s (Matt (subzali), Martin, Bruce (Jethro))
1 60 (Bill)
1 BJ70 (Wes)
1 BJ74 (Ross Miller) (drool)
3 80s (Kevin (sno bored), Dan (Convert), Brian)
1 KJZ95 (Millers)
2 100s (LexusBen and Dave)
2 4runners (Brian and Heather and Andrea and Aaron????)
1 Tacoma (Tyler)

(sorry if I got the names/trucks wrong, anybody's welcome to correct me)

Here's a second Thank You! Great trip!

Subzali described it well. Lots of wheeling, tons of great scenery, every kind of weather, great food and great people.

Here's a few pics:

The weekend started out with lots of rain and snow on the way to Taylor Park. Here's the top of Cottonwood Pass Friday night.

Bruce cracked the whip (just kidding Bruce) and had us up before the sun. This is the view from Dorchester prior to heading out.

We're off and running. Not a lot of time for photo ops, so lots of pics were taken with one arm hanging out the side while driving.

Hopefully someone took more photos of the fun part going UP the upper Reno Divide trail.

More great scenery heading up to Pearl Pass.

Near the top of Pearl Pass.

On the way down we had some snow and wind. The views on this side of Pearl are amazing, and the crazy weather made it interesting.

On our way to Taylor and along the ~BUMPY~ trail the changing Aspen trees were outstanding.

Back to camp and the feast that ensued.

Thanks again, it was great to meet and wheel with you all.

I'm with wes on this, I wheeled in Ouray for 4 days and this last weekend was much better in only two.

Posted some pics in the Gallery.

Thanks Bruce and Barbara for leading this "fast paced" run. Had a great time.

Thanks to all who chipped in to the Sat night feast. My belly thanks you

For those who missed - Too Bad. I've tried to hit as much as possible this summer and this is some of the best scenery/wheeling I have ever done.

I believe KlunkyChris had a great time as well - Being he has never been to mountains like that and they have to drive 1.5 hrs to wheel in a private park

What a great run! Who could get more weather land scapes, good times and great food in one week-end. Don't get many chances to join the runs but this had to be one of the best! Thank you Millers for planning such a great run! An other thanks to all the great food!

I'll try posting a few pics!

Man! It looks like this trip was everything I had hoped it would be-too bad my 40 had other ideas this time. Thanks for the pics- I'm heading for the garage to start working on the 40. Maybe it will let me go next year

The mud hole on pearl. These guys could make it though in their exploder but got stuck then were able to back out. THey came to see how we got through, not one cruiser needed help. It's alot deeper than pictured. Really an area that needs desperate work.
