Default Where to purchase engine hoist and stand?

Is there a place in/near Denver that sells engine hoists and stands? I don't want to deal with getting one shipped here.. and I would like to see the units in person before buying them anyway.

Ian,
I've got a hoist you can barrow. Its one of the cheaper imports but it works quite well. I've also got an engine stand. It's on the light side but is succesfully held up my 2F. I'd rec' a better stand though.

Harbor Freight sells some reasonable, serviceable units. Several flavors. So does Checker Auto. I have a HF stand (I would get the heavier one too, but it worked just fine with the 5VZ-FE), and a Checker hoist. The hoist is sweet.

Default I have engine stand

You can borrow (long time = OK) it
or buy it from me $20
or a case of Leinenkugals.

It is the classic cheapo orange Harbor Freight junk. I had my spare 3vze spare on it for years.

It is missing an e-clip on a wheel, but I'll fix that for ya.
The front wheels don't pivot worth a crap but I MIGHT be able to fix that too. (I think the bolts are just too long, while I have the grinder out, I can fix that in a jiffy)

I can bring it to the meeting or you can pick it up in Aurora.

That might be a deal. I need it by the weekend, is there an afternoon this week I could come and check it out?

Harbor Freight or Tool King, they both have about the same stuff for about the same price. Not the best quality, but fine for do-it-yourselfers like us. On the stand, make sure you get the 1000 pound stand and not the 750 pound stand.

I just got back from Tool Zone, they have engine stands and a 2000lb cherry picker in stock. Cherry picker is the same price as Harbor Freight $199, 1250 lb engine stand is ~$80. I am definitely buying the hoist, I think Ige is right and I will use it for all kinds of sh_t. I don't know about the stand yet.

Do you think a 1000 lb stand is enough? The 1250 lb is much bigger and will be much harder to store.
